News - August 19, 2000 Through August 25, 2000

August 25, 2000

Dave - Wondering about the 4-player adaptor? Or the battery pak and charger?  Did you even know that all 3 of those existed?  Well now you will!  NCL has posted new pics to their new GBA section, and we have them, with explanations. Enjoy!

Dave - Check the games page (I'm saying that a lot now, aren't I?).  Thanks to IGNPocket, we how have at least one screen for almost every game...check them out...finally, all of those cryptic Japanese titles can be evaluated!

Zach - Check out this new feature looking back at Dave's pre-SpaceWorld views... Was he right, or does his total lack of knowledge make your parents look like they know what they are talking about in respect to games? Click and see...

Dave - Awesome new shots brought to by GBD before anyone else!  Check out the games page or these links to get to new shots for Pinobee and Silent Hill, the first shots ever of Golf Master, and some truly beautiful art for Golden Sun.  Thanks go to NCL's site for the shots.

Dave - Check out a new article with some shots from inside Spaceworld, including the enormous crowds and a shot of a GBA demo stand (with headphones).  Thanks go to NCL's site for the shots.

Dave - The MKA page has been updated with a new screenshot.

Dave - (6 AM) - Check out this brand-spankin' new pic of a GBA cart, as shown by Nintendo.com.

August 24, 2000

Dave - Quick factoid: Spaceworldlive.com reports that GBA carts are the same size as GBC carts...but half as tall!  Keep in mind that the max size GBA cart is the same size as RE2 for N64....blows your mind, doesn't it?

Dave - Time to check that games page again!  Now, GBStation and IGNPocket have posted screens for Castlevania, F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Napoleon, Kurux3, and Tactic Ogre Gaiden

Dave - Check out the games page again...this time, 11 games have been updated with a paragraph each and a link to IGNPocket's hands on previews. Games updated: Silent Hill (w/ screenshot), Mario Kart, Mega Man, Napoleon, Golden Sun, Kurux3, Waiwai Racing, Momotaro Fest., Pinobee, and Golf Master.

Dave - Check out the games page for links to new info pages for 26 GBA games announced today by IGNPocket.  Know, however, that there is no actual information besides their developer and the fact that they were mentioned on the list IGNPocket reported earlier today.

Dave - Check out this short article with a shot of the GBA plugging into the controller port of a Cube!

Dave - (5AM) - Plenty of new games have been announced at SW...expect pages and an updated release list this afternoon.  Nintendo's got F-Zero, Tactics Ogre Gaiden, Wario Land 4, and Fire Emblem GBA.  Konami's got Star Communicator, Monster Breed GBA, and Chastlevania: Circle of the Moon.  Hudson Soft has got Bomberman GBA.  Spike has Advanced Fire Pro Wrestling, and Koei has Winning Post.  Thanks to Gamespot for the info.

Dave - (5 AM) - Check out the Actual GBA Hardware and Actual GBA Specs.

August 23, 2000

Dave - Konami Japan's site has posted 2 new screenshots of Konami Waiwai Racing Adventure:  one is a nice quality version of the original screen, and the other is a completely new screen.  For more info, check out on our Waiwai Racing page.

Dave - Quick Factoid - Reuters analysts report that the GBA will launch at 10,000 yen, or about $92.

Dave - thegia.com has posted some specs for the GBA...and we've got them!  No big surprises, though, as far as I can tell.

Dave - thegia.com has come to our rescue!  Check out our article with their very authentic looking pictures of the real GBA hardware.

Dave - Spaceworldlive.com has announced 2 new Kemco games, and reports that the company has another 5 in development! Schwing!  Check out the games page for info on the 2 announced games. FYI:  Our (rather pathetic) release date list has been updated with the new titles....but...no release dates, sorry.

August 22, 2000

Dave - Ever wondered what a (GBA) development kit looks like?  Now, we can show you!  Be warned, however, that it's not as glamorous as you may have anticipated it being.

Dave - For the few of you who didn't come from the awesome site, I wanted to give you a chance to visit the Nformant.  Jonnyboy runs a truly inspiring page, filled with information on the N64 and Dolphin, all the latest news, polls, a thriving message board with real gamers, a great newsletter, and a chance to submit your own work for everyone (including some of his famous visitors) to see.  One of major highlights, however, is the one-of-a-kind Expansion Pak list, giving you every reminder possible as to why you shelled out $30 for a replacement Jumper Pak.  Check it out!

August 21, 2000

Zach - READ THIS!!! [ed. note: Check out this awesome new editorial from the desktop of Zach with speculation and hopes for GBA - Cube Connectivity.]

Dave - Check out some Spaceworld Speculation...it's Part 1 out of a series of 2.  Whee! ....we need more staff...

Dave - Despite what anyone else says, I think Yoshi's Story will be a GBA game.  Check out the new games page just for the green monster's tale.

Dave - Wowie, 2 new GBA games, one screenshot each, and a little more information on SHAGB *snicker*.  All can be easily accessed from the games page.

Dave - Quick Quote: "No, these aren't cards, you can't gamble with them." -friend, explaining to a teacher that Magic: The Gathering is not banned under school rules.  (Note:  The teacher gave no response.  No involved parties could be reached for comment.)

August 19, 2000

Dave - Just some small site maintenance: the about page is updated, and the databases are now available in .zip format only.
