GBA Racer Commentary

00-08-14 - Zach - While only seven games have been thus far announced for the GBA, two of these titles are in the racing genre. Mario Kart Advance looks to be a worth successor to it's SNES counterpart. While only one shot of the game is available, one can see the potential power of the GBA. This title can be expected to combine the best features of the other two Mario Kart games into a possibly substantial launch game. Mario Kart Advance contains advanced visuals for a handheld game, and many theorize that it will support four player play through the link cable.

    Konami Waiwai Racing does look similar to MKA, but it is doubtful that it will contain the same balanced play mechanics. Still, sporting a nice look and possible four player play, Konami Waiwai Racing could be a surprise hit on the GBA.
